Clean spreadsheet dates, amounts and identifiers

Normalize dates and decimal conventions in CSV or Excel while keeping account codes and other identifiers as text.

Prepare the input

Select transformation rules by column. Keep postal codes, SKUs and employee IDs outside numeric cleanup. For amounts or dates, identify the source convention before selecting the output convention.

What to check in the output

A value such as 1,234 can mean different things in different locales. Test a row with a known amount and review ambiguous values instead of choosing a convention by appearance.

Before using the result

Changing a format cannot recover a leading zero already lost in the original spreadsheet. Keep an untouched export for comparison.
