Merge data files into one table
Combine tabular exports and trace rows to their source file when consolidating CSV, Excel or JSON data.
Prepare the input
Start with exports at the same grain: one row per store item, for example. Inspect the source headers and decide how columns with different names should align.
What to check in the output
Merge the two sample inventory exports, then inspect rows from each location before summing quantities. If the same SKU appears at both locations, decide what a duplicate means for your analysis.
Before using the result
Appending tables is different from joining records by an ID. To find changed values for individual records, compare the two files by key instead.
