Analyze machine downtime without double-counting overlaps
Review downtime events by machine, separate overlapping records, and identify unspecified loss reasons before preparing a shift report.
How this check works
Inputs and matching rules
Use the following exports: Downtime events.
- Use ISO 8601 start/end times with Z or an explicit UTC offset.
- Invalid events and every member of an overlapping or duplicate interval group are excluded from totals.
- Adjacent intervals are allowed; overlap checks apply separately to each exact machine ID.
- Loss reasons are preserved; blank, unknown, misc, other and n/a reasons are grouped as unspecified.
Read the evidence
In the sample, PACK-02 has two overlapping intervals, 09:00–09:15 and 09:10–09:25. Both are excluded from loss totals for review. PRESS-01’s nonoverlapping intervals contribute 50 recorded minutes.
What the result can establish
Recorded losses only: incomplete logs cannot establish OEE, availability, root cause or failure predictions.
