Worked example
For a letter you want to rewrite, choose Editable text and check paragraph order in Word. For a scanned certificate whose appearance matters more than editing, choose Page images to place the page in the DOCX.
Why is the text no longer arranged in columns?
Editable text reflows. Tables and multi-column layouts may need rebuilding in Word. Page images preserve appearance but cannot be edited as paragraphs. For an image-only scan, run OCR first to obtain text.
