Worked example
For a shift report, start with a six-sentence brief. Use each page reference to read the lines surrounding a selected sentence before forwarding it, especially if a qualifier or exception changes its meaning.
Does the summary interpret charts or write new conclusions?
No. It selects passages from text already in the document; it does not describe pictures or generate new claims. Choose a maximum of 3, 6 or 10 sentences. Run OCR first for a report made entirely of scans.
