Worked example
To leave a cover unnumbered in a seven-page report, select 2-7, set the first number to 1 and choose Bottom right. The second PDF page now shows 1 and the last shows 6.
Can a chapter continue numbering from an earlier file?
Yes. If the earlier chapter ends at 24, start the next one at 25. Numbers are visible overlays, so check the first and last page for collisions with existing footers.
